Four Years of eftopia | A Thank You From Us to You.

When we first stood on this piece of land in 2019, it was difficult to imagine exactly what eftopia would become. We knew we wanted to build more than a place to stay. We wanted to create somewhere people could truly switch off, reconnect with themselves and with each other, and experience a quieter side of Greece.

The buildings were only ever one part of that vision.
What mattered most was how people would feel while they were here.

Every decision we made, from the way the houses are positioned for privacy to the materials we chose, the gardens we planted, and the small details waiting for guests on arrival, came from one simple question: Would this make someone's stay better?

Four years later, the answer doesn't come from us. It comes from you.

Over the years we've welcomed guests from all over the world. Families introducing their children to Greece for the first time. Couples celebrating anniversaries and birthdays. Solo travellers looking for a few peaceful days away from busy routines. We've also had the privilege of welcoming many of you back, sometimes every year, which is perhaps the greatest compliment we could receive.

Some guests arrive as visitors and leave feeling like familiar faces. We still remember many of the conversations we've shared by the garden, the recommendations exchanged, and the messages you've sent after returning home. Those moments stay with us.

Your reviews have played an equally important role. Every thoughtful comment has helped future travellers discover us, while every suggestion has encouraged us to keep improving. We read every review and every message because they genuinely influence the decisions we make.

One of the things we're happiest to hear is that eftopia feels personal.

That guests notice the care behind the experience. That the houses feel calm, comfortable and considered. That staying here feels less like checking into accommodation and more like spending time somewhere that has been prepared with genuine attention. That has always been our goal.

Running a small boutique retreat means we have the opportunity to keep refining things year after year. Whether it's improving the gardens, introducing new touches inside the houses, sharing our favourite local recommendations, or simply making sure every guest feels looked after from the moment they book, these are the things that matter to us.

To everyone who has returned more than once, thank you for placing your trust in us again.

To those who discovered eftopia for the first time this year, thank you for choosing an independent boutique stay tucked away in the hills near Gialova, Costa Navarino and Voidokilia Beach.

This anniversary isn't simply about marking another year. It's about recognising the community that has quietly grown around this place. People from different countries, backgrounds and walks of life who all found something meaningful here, even if only for a few days.

As we look ahead, our intentions remain the same as they were in 2019, to keep improving, to continue caring for this land responsibly, and to offer a stay that feels thoughtful, peaceful and genuinely welcoming.

We hope that for many of you, eftopia won't simply be somewhere you visited once, but somewhere you'll always look forward to returning to.
